Julie is a professional singer, songwriter, vocal coach and music educator, with a Masters Degree in Music and 30+ years experience teaching in private studio and classroom settings.

 

Julie graduated Magna Cum Laude from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Music and a Masters of Science for Teachers degree in Piano/Voice. She continued her vocal training with Elizabeth Howard of Los Angeles, Jeanette LoVetri of New York, and Martina A. Catella, of Paris. She also attended The Contemporary Commercial Music Vocal Pedagogy Institute of Shenandoah Conservatory, and is a Level III Somatic Voicework teacher. She is a member of the National Association of Teachers for Singing.

Julie has taught piano and directed numerous choral and theater ensembles and stage productions in Chatham and Jenkins County public and private schools.  She currently operates her own piano, voice and related arts studio and is a coach for many aspiring and professional singers of all ages.

Julie promotes the development of well-rounded performers, encouraging dance, theater and keyboard instruction in her program. She supports the goals of the individual singer, and concentrates on healthy vocal technique as it applies to a wide variety of genres, especially music theater, jazz and the standard popular 20th Century repertoire. Julie also places her students in performance opportunities, such as soloing for sporting events, musical roles in community theater and Broadway camps in N.Y.,  as well as prepares them for entrance in performing arts high schools, colleges and All State Chorus. She coaches participants in auditions for American Idol and The Voice and works with students interested in songwriting. She also produces her student's vocal demos in professional recording studios.
